Nokia introduces the Nokia E71, the latest email-optimized devices from the Nokia Eseries product range. The E71 weighs 126 g and it’s very skinny (114 mm x 57 mm x 10 mm). With this Nokia Eseries device, people can get reliable real-time access to their email, calendar, contacts and tasks, as well as download attachments like Word, Excel, Powerpoint or PDF files directly to their devices. The Nokia E71 supports email accounts from more than a thousand internet service providers (ISPs) around the world, as well as Gmail, Yahoo! mail and Hotmail. While the call quality of the phone was pretty decent, its battery was also quite consistent. It managed to offer a good back up in spite of heavy usage. The E71 has Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, and GPS in a package that looks great and can last a few hard days. If that’s not good design execution, then I don’t know what is. Nokia Maps 2.0 is an OK solution for casual mapping, the paid aspects of the service work great for those who travel more or who need more advanced functionality, such as voice guidance or Lonely Planet support. the Nokia E71 supports the latest Ovi services including maps, music and media sharing that power users expect from their device. This includes fast and seamless browsing with HSDPA, wireless LAN and 3G connectivity, Assisted GPS (A-GPS) and Nokia Maps for navigation, a music player with support for up to 8 GB expandable memory and a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera.
