Parents try to impose their incomplete goals on their children to achieve them through their kids. Many parents decide the future of their kids as they think that they are better decision makers.
Children should be asked about their choice of career. There need to be a regular session between the parents and the kids. They should discuss the pros and cons of their suggested careers so as to reach to a consensus. The child should not feel that he/she is not consulted and same holds true with parents also. Some kids don’t want any suggestions from their parents. As per them, they are smart enough to take their own decisions and do not want any suggestions from parents. This attitude is also wrong. The discussion regarding future decisions should be discussed to build a bright future and better life ahead.
A small mistake may lead to selection of lesser wanted stream and hence lesser effort. Students should consider their strengths and weaknesses and then decide for their future. Parents are always supportive towards their kids, provided they understand their child’s view point of deciding upon such factor. This will also help them to support their kids and help them achieve their goal.
